چکیده
The Confusion, Hubbub and Order Scale (CHAOS) – short form is a survey tool intended to capture information about home environments. It widely used in studies of child adolescent development psychopathology, particularly twin studies. original long the scale comprised 15 items was validated sample infants 1980s. developed late 1990s contains six items, including four from scale, two new items. This has not been focus this study. We use five samples (N=10,898) Australia, UK, USA, examine measurement properties CHAOS form. first compare alternate confirmatory factor models for each group; we next test between-group configural, metric scalar invariance; finally, predictive validity under different conditions. find evidence that two-factor configuration more appropriate than commonly one-factor model. Second, non-invariance across groups at invariance step, with performing differently depending on sample. By contrast longitudinal three multi-wave data collection CHAOS. Finally, report inconsistent results tests using family-level socioeconomic status academic achievement as criterion variables. caution continued short-form its current recommend future revisions developmental research.

BACKGROUND The six item Confusion, Hubbub and Order Scale (CHAOS-6) has been validated as a reliable tool to measure levels of household disorder. We aimed to investigate the goodness of fit and reliability of a new Malay version of the CHAOS-6. METHODS The original English version of the CHAOS-6 underwent forward-backward translation into the Malay language. The finalised Malay version was a...
متن کاملMeasuring the validity and psychometric properties of a short form of the Hypomanic Personality Scale
The Hypomanic Personality Scale (HPS) is used to investigate hypomanic traits and risk for bipolar spectrum disorders; however, the length of the HPS (48 items) may be prohibitive for clinical research and screening purposes. Meads and Bentall (2008) developed a promising 20item version of the HPS; however, the psychometric properties and validity of the short form have not been thoroughly exam...
متن کاملHigher Order Expectations, Rational Confusion, and Short-term Trading
In a market with short term investors, when noise is persistent, a liquidity shock affecting the aggregate demand at a given period propagates to future periods’ aggregate demands. As a consequence, asset prices reflect investors’ higher order expectations about both the fundamentals and the noise stock, worsening the “rational confusion” problem investors face when extracting information from ...
متن کاملSimplicity, Scale, and Surprise: Evaluating Structural Form
Aesthetic and ethical issues of building design are presented here to encourage meaningful discussion among today’s archi tectural engineering students and practitioners. The evaluative aesthetic ideas of scale, simplicity, and surprise are applied to two important structures designed by Fazlur R. Khan. Khan’s profound understanding of load flow in his buildings influenced his aesthetic ideas....
متن کاملMeasuring and Evaluating Large-Scale CDNs
CDNs play a critical and central part of today’s Internet infrastructure. In this paper we conduct extensive and thorough measurements that accurately characterize the performance of two large-scale commercial CDNs: Akamai and Limelight. Our measurements include charting the CDNs (locating all their content and DNS servers), assessing their server availability, and quantifying their world-wide ...
